Chameleon cage,enclosure & habitat

What the Chameleon Cage Should You Think?

Chameleons need an open area for heating up and getting UVB
Chameleons need a hidden area for feeling secure
Chameleons prefer horizontal branch perching
You need a basking branch, a drinking branch, and a hiding branch
Solid side (PVC or Glass) cages must be used if you need more control over temperature and/or humidity
Live plants are best
When starting out, keep the cage floor bare – no substrate necessary

Chameleon habitat

These chameleon only live in trees and thrive in areas with lots of foliage, they are used to be camouflaged themselves with leaves and twigs.
Wild chameleons lick water droplets off leaves, Pets may lack the ability to drink from a bowl. Daily misting is necessary to prevent dehydration in the plant. It is necessary to purchase an automated reptile mister.

UV Light

Chameleons require adequate exposure to UVA and UVB radiation.
Furthermore, providing chameleons with access to natural sunlight by means of an open window can keep chameleons happy and healthy. It is recommended that the UVB lights be on for 10 hours daily.

 

Chameleon cage decor

If you fill your chameleon cage with lots of sand, rocks and a few logs, your pet will not be comfortable. Chameleon enclosures or a chameleon tank need to look more like a real forest.
