Corn snake is a very rewarding and exciting experience. They are scientifically known as Elaphe guttata and also famous for their manageable size, and striking colors.
Corn Snake Enclosure
Corn snakes originate from a warm climate area so you need to provide them with proper snake habitat. For proper temperature regulation gets an enclosure will need at least a 40 gallon snake terrarium for Adult Corn snakes, with glass sliding doors and vents. These ventilation areas will help in maintaining humidity and heat throughout the enclosure.
Lighting and heating
The basking lamp should stay on for almost 8 to 9 hours a day. During the nighttime, turn off all the lights and make sure that the snake enclosure is in complete darkness.
This process will help in establishing a day and night cycle for snake well-being. A nocturnal or infrared light should be used at night.
In order to stimulate these natural heat sources without any light we need to place a heat mat under the baking area. This mat radiates heat and warms the objects around it creating a patch for corn snake to enjoy at night.

Humidity
Maintain a humidity of 40% to 60%; increase to 70% when shedding. Daily misting with warm water and a shallow open bowl of water, a piece of wet paper towel, or sphagnum moss can help with shedding.
Decor
Give your corn snake a place to hide and a place where it can cool down by moving away from a direct warming area. Your snake can live in a fake or real wood hide log that is big enough for it to fit inside. Even though corn snakes live on land, a climbing tree can help them get some exercise. You can also add plants and a background to make your snake home look better.
Lifespan
Corn snakes live up to 22 years in human care, but their lifespan is shorter in the wild.
